Photoshop help
hi,
i had the Photoshop for some time now and never really messed around with it at all. After hearing that you could do some really cool things with it rather easily i thought i would have a go. well I’m lost already! there are options everywhere and i don't know what to do or how to do it. so do you know any good guides i can find on the internet. i don't want to become a master or anything, well not yet anyway , but i also don't want something telling me how to use paste! And if you use it how did you get to work it, by just messing around or reading up?

I learned photoshop by using it, messing around to see what effect did what. And I've been messing around with it for about 12 years and I still don't know all it will do..version changes has to do with too.

well looks like i have some reading ahead. cheers for the sites Crimson. half the trouble is thinking what you want to do anyway. i don't know what i want to do as i don't know what it can do! for now i will learn the basics and mess around, see if i can doctor so photo's of friends for a laugh!
i also love all the digital art people make with it, but that looks very hard and i think requires some special add-on’s

As a side note, Adobe has a forums, and it's free to join. There also you should be able to pick up some pointers.
Just play with it, you will eventually learn it can be awesome to use. And good luck!!

You are very welcome John. Thats how I learned to use it ... just to have a starting point... I was lost when I first got it. Once I learned how to open a blank canvas and what a layer was I was on my way ... as photolady mentioned then you can have a field day! Start playing with brushes and filters. Then you can start adding your own content and let those creative juices flow
