Outlook Inbox Sort Issue

I'm not sure what has happened, but how do I fix this issue. I use Outlook for my email. Recently, the sort in my Inbox started having problems. I would go view my Contacts for instance and then would return to my Inbox. Upon my return to the Inbox, the sort order changes to the From column in Ascending order and I am near the bottom of that sort. This is not the sort order that my Inbox was in when I went to view my contacts. The sort order at that time was by Received column in Descending order and at the top of the list. I change the sort order and return to the top of the list. Upon going to another area within Outlook such as Calendar and returning to the Inbox, my sort order goes back to From column in Ascending order. Any ideas why this is happening and how do I correct this issue? It is very frustrating.

Just a thought ... Sort by the date received/descending and close Outlook. Then re-open it and see if the sort by date received/descending stuck.
