Firefox Extention Warning. Take a look.
Hello All, Warning to all Firefox Users.
Juha-Matti Laurio writes "The antivirus specialists at McAfee have warned of a Trojan that disguises itself as a Firefox extension. The trojan installs itself as a Firefox extension, presenting itself as a legitimate existing extension called numberedlinks.
It then begins intercepting passwords and credit card numbers entered into the browser, which it then sends to an external server. The most dangerous part of the issue is that it records itself directly into the Firefox configuration data, avoiding the regular installation and confirmation process."
Found it on that Windows Live i just downloaded. Science and Tech.

The key is to NEVER automatically open attachments. Make certain that your antivirus scanner is up to date, save the attachment to the desktop and then manually scan it. And never, ever open a .exe file attachment from any email unless you specifically requested it (and even then, still manually scan it.)

Now that FF is becoming more popular (my sites see 17% Mozilla browsers), attacks will be more frequent. I find the extensions to be a nuisance due to lack of updating in many cases so I don't use any. They are likely to provide avenues for hacker/crims like the one posted. Thanks gep for the heads-up.
