    DVD-RW erase problems

    hi,
recently for some e reason when i use Nero to erase DVD-RW and DVD+RW disks they cannot be used again. after erasing them is complete they show up as having no storage! this has happened the last 3-4 times i have tried but worked fine before that. my DVD drive seems to still recognise the disks just not with any storage. any idea's what the problem is?
attached is a pic of what windows tells me about the disks when they have been erased.

P.S. i have not used any other program to erase the DVD's to test if it's just nero or not.

Is this a double post? Seems very familiar. Anyway, it could be that your erase laser is off-calibration and is doing a lot more than erasing. I doubt it is the burning software but I don't know for sure.

nar it's not a double post.

well it's really starting to annoy me, messed up quite a few good DVD-RW's with it . but at the moment i am not doing much burning so i might have to look into getting a new drive later on.

I think that you're right and it may well be a hardware issue. I'll move this to the hardware forum for more input.

Have you tried cleaning the drive with a cd/dvd lens cleaner disk? You might try that before buying a new drive. And I doubt too that it's Nero.
