One of the hidden benefits of building your own with the identical same components is that the consumer (user) saves money. If it is a top of the line, then it may be as much as $1,000 plus.
When I get ready to purchase new computers, I am planning to build my own. Dwight Silverman of the Houston Chronicle maintains excellent up-to-date specs on the Houston Chronicle Technology page at http://www.chron.com/.
