    XP Life Cycle

I understand that by 2008 - 2010 XP will lose MS support. Can anyone confirm this?

It depends on which version of XP you have, and when Vista is released. Under the original policy (5 years of mainstream support, followed by 5 years of extended support for business products only) XP Home and MCE would have lost support at the end of this year. They've changed that to make the mainstream support end date two years after the release of Vista, and the extended support end date five years after that.
