.cda file not recognized after changing drive letter
Hi all,
After changing the CDrom drive letter I can not play music cd's on a Windows XP machine. I think it has something to do with WMP looking on the D drive to play the .CDA It seems to be looking on the internet now to play the music but can't. I remember hearing somewhere that Windows keeps looking in the default drive to play .cda's and when it can't find the drive it looks on the internet. Does this sound familiar? The file association is still good but it can not find the new drive for playing music. How do I change the default drive for playing music?

I can't seem to find such thing as a "default" drive within WMP(By the way, which version?)
If you drag and drop the files in WMP by browsing the cd, can you play them?
You can also (Windows explorer)right click the drive>Properties>AutoPlay select Music CD and check "Play Using Windows Media Player".
Haven't come across something like that before...

Have a look in the Tools>Options>Devices tab, you should find the optical drives in there.

All settings look good. I just don't get it. I am giving up and reformating. It's just not worth it. Thanks for all the help.
