How can I copy an "Illegal operation" message?

When this pops up i cant drag to highlight so to copy and paste...so is there another process to use so i can post or print.

Easiest is to write it down then post it. Depending and which error your getting, could render your puter useless without a reboot.

Thanks Murf. I was thinking there was a (ctrl/screen) or other method that would put it up to copy the entire message. The complete message is very long.
I just thought i had read somewhere a procedure that did that. I must be confused. (Not the first time

You can create a Faultlog by going to TweakUI > Paranoia Tab and selecting "Log Application Errors to FaultLog.txt"

or you can use one of the following hacks.

Run Regedit and under the key

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
Add a new key: Fault
Add string value : LogFile
Double Click on LogFile and type: C:\WINDOWS\FAULTLOG.TXT

or

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Fault]
"LogFile"="C:\\WINDOWS\\FAULTLOG.TXT"

Try this when you have the "illegal operation" dialog box come up. Click on details and when the error box comes up, left click hold and drag to highlight. Right click and in the box that pops up left click on copy. Then go to your selected message box on VirDr, right click and in the box that pops up click on paste and when you finish up your posting "submit" it.

Usually when this happens, one of two things is going on: either a program is stuck in a tight loop or hardware has either stopped using resources so quickly that there are non resources available to run the program. At the risk of giving a generalization and being wrong, if you can bring up a task window, it's more often to be a program problem. If you can't access the task window, then it's probably a hardware related problem. With that said, remember the foregoing is a generalization and may not be true in all cases. If a program stops responding, you can bring up a task windows by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL. You can highlight the offending program and click on "End Task" to close it. Usually Windows will suggest one with the notation (stopped responding) after it. Sometimes when you choose to end task, it will take a while and a second window will pop up that you must hit "OK" to actually close the program.
