[Home] Can't Run Windows Update
Alright, about a week ago I bought myself a new laptop, complete with Windows XP home edition. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to update Windows at all. I have complete acess to the internet over some wireless network that I can connet to from my house, and everything is working but the Windows updates. I installed the ActiveX control, and everything works fine until its searching for updates. After I select Express or Custom, it searches for a bit (the time it takes depends on how good my wireless connection is doing at the time), and then comes up with error 0x8024400A. I searched for this error on the Microsoft discussion page, and found something about registering a DLL file. I did that, but nothing changed, still the same problem. I tried googling the error, and followed instructions about disabling anti-virus software and adding IE into Windows Firewall exceptions, but that did nothing. Anyone got any ideas?
