Welcome to VDr! I my experience, a flash in daylight will brighten shadows- particularly helpfull with faces. The flash can wash-out the color in a pic, but can be filtered to reduce intensity. Also, backing up from the subject & zooming with the optical zoom only, will reduce wash-out and glare & still brighten hard shadows produced by bright sunlight. JL
