Nero - Burning Data File On DVD : Problem
I am using Nero (Version 6.6.0.15) that comes with my external LightScribe DVD Burner I bought 2 months ago.
Every time I try to burn a DVD to contain a Data File of over 1 GB, I cannot even add that file to the job (the program hangs), whereas for files smaller than 1 GB, there is not a problem, and I can add as many files as the DVD can hold, and burn them successfully.
I have made sure that I have a brand new DVD (and not CD) on the drive..
and I have tried many files of sizes over 1 GB (to make sure that it is not a specific file which causes the problem). And, I have made sure that the DVD has sufficient space to contain that file. And, also, I have made sure that it is not the DVD burner (because I tried the same with my external Plextor DVD burner and encountered the same problem). I have re-started my computer, and have made sure nothing else - apart from Windows and my Internet Connection - is running that may hold those files up. I can even cut and paste those files (over 1 GB) around from folder to folder, and to flash memory sticks - just to make my point.
I am running WinXP-SP2 with lots of vacant space (over 30 GB) on my hard drive.
Any one encountered the same problem ?
What have I done incorrectly ?
I do not want to pay for a Nero upgrade (and I hate Roxio to its bones for its intrusiveness to my machine), what is the solution ?
I appreciate your help.
Thank you.
