    [XP] MD5 Errors on install...HELP!!

Ok, so I am recieving md5 errors upon installation of BF2, with both CD, and DVD install attempts, and yes I tried the CD in DVD drive, md5 as well. HOWEVER, I do NOT recieve the error when running in safe mode. What does that tell me? Is there some sort of service running that casuses the error to pop up? I have windows xp, athlon 2200xp, 1.5 gigs corsair, gigabyte g-7vaxp board, anything else just ask. .

I now have a bfg geforce 6600 oc...i used to have an ati card, but was still having trouble as well...i dont believe the issue has to do with the switch of the video cards (it went very smoothly)..i think it is the i/o someplace, such as memory..perhaps i should test my ram?

md5 errors in bf2 equate down to 4things normaly
1.you have cheats instaled that have corupted the files
2.malware on the pc such as viruses and spyware
    3.hardware problem normaly memory related.
    4.hardware conflicts

if it is cheat related you will need to uninstal the whole game and then reinstall and prey punkbusted and punkbuster havent caught up with you and dont do it AGAIN.

however if you are a legit player and not a l33t hax0r then we ned to look at the next few steps.

I have since learned that MD5 errors are associated with pirated gaming software. So I doubt this is malware/spyware related. It this is a pirated/downloaded via P2P, we can't keep this thread open. And I'm closing this thread. If Sean will pm me and prove this isn't a pirated version of this game, I can reopen it.
