win2k & media player 10
Has anyone ever tried installing media player 10 on win2k with success? I know it's supposed to only work on XP, but I know that the system requirements sometimes lie.

I don't think it's possible. It isn't just a case of system requirements, rather that XP has bits in it that WMP10 needs which Win2K doesn't have.

Sounds about right. Win2k is close to XP on the inside, but it definately does not have the same multimedia capibilities. So WMP 9 is about the best 2k can do?

Yes, but I was always perfectly happy with WMP9 on my old Win2000 box (now gracefully retired ). I never thought that WMP10 was all that much of an improvement.
