[RESOLVED] Can't Run Any Programs (did a dumb maneuver)
While trying to get an app from a CD to launch, the app opened in IE and was javacsript, so IE wouldn't display the page (an issue for another thread.) Since I have no problems opening/viewing javascript in Mozilla, I thought I'd do what I could to get the app to open in Mozilla. Setting Mozilla as default browser failed, so I went into Folder Options/File types, temporarily added ".exe" extensions to open with Mozilla (dumb, I know, really dumb). Not only did that not work, long story short, that stunt created a nightmare. I now cannot open any programs.
When I went back to Folder Options/File Type to remove the "exe" association I put in, ".exe" is not on the list. Thought I'd do System Restore, but since that's a .exe application, it won't open. I get the prompt asking me which program I want to use to open System Restore. Can't use Help and Support, same thing, when I launch H&S, again I get the prompt asking me which program I want to use to open the ".exe" extension associated with the program. (Happens with all .exe programs, IE, OE, etc.)
I hope this makes sense. Any thoughts on how I can undo that ".exe" association with Mozilla out of File Types? Or better yet how I can make System Restore work to undo the damage? I thought perhaps I could do a repair from the XP Pro CD, but I don't know - I'm just not sure how to undo the damage I've done here.
TIA for any help/suggestions!
Kat

Have you tried uninstalling Mozilla? that may break the association.
