Log on problem
My sister called me a little while ago and said she went to turn on her computer she couldn't log onto Windows. She said usually it just logs on with her user name but now it is asking for a her password. Is there any way around it so she can reset the password and log back on. I mean what would happen if someone forgot their log on password? There has to be a way around it?
Thanks

Hello Raydee
At the Welcome Screen, try pressing
CTRL + ALT + DEL twice.
This should bring up the Admin Account log on box.
I have to say though that it sounds like there`s something more serious wrong if she can`t get to Safe Mode with F8.
That might not work.

If it ain't broke, leave it alone.

Maybe not. I have found that when that happens, shutdown, wait 30 seconds , then try F8 when you boot up.
In reboot situation, lots of time what is in the ram causes the key to be "SKIPPED"? for some reason. That seems to hold true in Home and Pro.

And if she has a keyboard with an F-lock button, make sure that is pressed first or the F8 key won't be seen.
Nick.
