    [XP] Sound card question

    Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to ask what is the differance between the Sound blaster live! 24-bit, and the Sound Blaster Audigy SE. Is there any advantages to using one over the other, or are they pretty much the same?

The Audigy is a newer model than the Live!, and is supposedly improved. I used to have one of each on different PCs though, and I couldn't notice any difference to be honest.

But the X-Fi card that I have on my latest build is just awesome - far better than any of the previous SoundBlasters. They're a bit pricy though.

I'm looking for something affordable, that's why I mentioned the Audigy SE cards. X-fi's way, way out of my price range, and would be overkill for my needs. Do they still sell Audigy Value cards? I coulden't find them on Newegg.

It's still listed in Creative's current product range:

The Audigy Value dosen't seem too much better than the one I have now. I think i'm just going to save up for X-fi in the future. Besides, the 5.1 speakers I just got seem to have given my SB Live some new life. Thanks for the help!

You're very welcome I think you've made a wise choice, there really isn't enough difference between the Live! and the Audigy to justify the expense of upgrading IMO.
