maybe you could use your old HD as slave to transfer the files easily. or if you have an ipod then you can use that as a portable HD.
Windows 7, Asus P5Q-E iP45 , Core 2 Duo E8400, 4GB Ballistix DDR2 800MHz, GeForce 9600.

well i'm out of idea's then
i assume you will have to network your PC's and transfer the files that way. but i'm not sure on the precise equipment needed for that.

Networking
Purchase another harddrive/external enclouser
Or get one of these: (I love mine)
CROSSBOX- PC to PC Data Transfer and Backup Device

Once connected to each PC, CROSSBOX automatically displays both hard drives on the screen enabling the user to quickly locate and copy files to and from each system. Operating at USB 2.0 speeds, CROSSBOX moves files 600 % faster than standard flash memory-based storage media. CROSSBOX is pocket-sized and has retractable cables allowing it to be easily carried anywhere.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

That should work very well. I transfer all kinds of stuff from one PC to another over the LAN.

That will work if you want to to fight that way.
Butr if you have dsl or cable internet, may I suggest a router. That will allow you to get both computers on line at the same time. Plus once you set up your lan sharing and that, I think you will enjoy the options you will gain.
