    Lighting 2006

It is once again spring in central USA. Last night I just sat down at pc and a lighting bolt came out of ceiling light fixture. POP was like a shot gun blast. Their was 3 pc running connected to www via sattlite dish and in a LAN through a router. Kinda funny it only got the motherboard on 1 of the pc's . ( I have pulled the hard drive on it and it is good so as near as I know haven't lost any important data) It had 2 hard drives but most of data on one I checked. It had a gigabyte GA7- VA mother board in it was still running but chipset fan making a lot of noise and graphics gone with Lighting and wont reboot/ w different power supply or graphis card.
All the pc's were behind surge protectors & ups.
So a word of warning BACKUP you may not be as lucky as I.

Wow! Reminds me of the time I was with the Peace Corps in Antarctica, down in that ice cavern when a 30 pound meteorite came right through the cave entrance and smashed into my laptop which, thankfully, was not on my lap at the time.

Seriously.....you were very, very lucky it didn't fry the whole mess....including yourself.
