    temp. file every 2 seconds

For the last few days I have noticed that when cleaning my computer of old files and temps and such using "Easy Cleaner" I am getting tons of files all the same name and size with differing numerical endings In the "Unnecessary files" section and are created every 2 seconds twice than 4 seconds once than repeat. they are all 2667k and read approx. C:\documents and settings\my name\local settings\temp\ver3D45(number,letter,number,number).temp.
Can anyone tell me what is going on here? I ran a repair of the software to see if that was a problem but am still getting the same results. Nothing else seems wrong with the computer in any way shape or form. it is a P3 DELL4400 I have had for quit some time running XP Pro.

Just tied EasyCleaner here and didn't see anything like that happening in the same folder, (different username of course).

Does the same thing happen when you run EasyCleaner while in Safe mode?

Does easy cleaner shred or overwrite files/data when it deletes it? If so those temp files could be the random data it's using to overwrite the files.

I ran Easy Cleaner in safe mode today and it did not register the file problem I was having in standard mode. I have used this program for years now and never had a problem like this with it. An earlier build deleted help files but that was a ways back and it has run fine ever sense untill recently with this unnessecary file situation.
I have it set up to remove files to the trash can rather than permanantly deleting them for safety.
After running it just now I noticed that it seems to always end with a discarded file fragment from c\;WINDOWS\software distribution\data store\logs\edb.chk but will need to run it a few more times to be sure that is absolutly so.
    Suggestions ?

Still having the same problem.Yesterday I removed 18,000 temp files every one of them 2667k. I still can not find out what is making these files but they are making one big temp folder when I don't remember to run easy cleaner every day to stop them from growing. I reinstalled easy cleaner with the newest version and ran(in safe mode with sys restore off ) spybot, ad-aware,cwshreeder,trojan hunter, and hijackthis (nothing unusual I noticed) to no avail. does anyone have a suggestion on how to figure out what is creating these files ? It seems that understanding why these files are being created might answer the question of how to stop them.
