Hard to read black text on blue background

    Using XP and Word 2002.

I set my background page to be blue, with white text when typing. Occasionally, I have copied text from the internet and it has come out with black text on the blue page. In the past, I have either ignored it or retyped it. Now, I have a multi-page document which is black text on blue background. How can I change that to white text on blue?

Can't you just highlight the text that is black and change font color to white? I think by default the Formatting toolbar should be visible - if not, you can select it by View -> Toolbars. On that toolbar, there is the letter A with a color bar underneath. First use the pulldown to select white - then highlight the text and click on the A to change color.

Never thought of doing that, and it actually works.

I selected the entire page, changed the color to white, and it is now readable, without affecting my default settings.

    Thanks much.

Another useful trick is to use Edit | Paste Special instead of just Paste. You can choose to treat it as unformatted text, and then Word will apply the default (white) formatting.
