nav 2004 virus definitions out of date
I have tried to run liveupdate and it downloads all except one. It says NAV definitions has 1 aborted.....
LU1875 update failed during its preprocessing welcome text phase
Does anyone know what i should do now to correct the problem?.

I had the same problem.
It said the following:
....................
....................
Downloading catalog file (24 of 25), complete.
Opening update list
The digital signature found on the catalog file has been signed by Symantec Corporation.
Processing update list
Opening update list
Processing update list
Downloading catalog file (25 of 25), product up-to-date.
The following updates have been aborted:
> Norton AntiVirus Virus Definitions has 1 aborted update(s).
Reason:
LU1875: This update failed during its preprocessing welcome text phase
LiveUpdate session is complete.
SO is that just failing to download the protection for the virus it lists (as the LU1875 part links to a virus definition)
or is it indicating i might have that virus?!
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers.

It's not indicating a virus but a problem updating the dat files. Did you try Liams suggestion?

Yes I did thank you.
I had already done that on friday - I was just checking that it didn't mean I had the virus - I haven't been using N.A.V long so wasn't 100% sure - better safe than sorry, right?!
Thanks again.

I had the same problem. It started when my definition subscription had to be renewed. I chose to buy the updates for NAV2004 for another year. When I purchased the renewal, I downloaded the new updates and got the same error message. I tried everything Symantec recommended and nothing worked. I sent Symantec a nasty email and they said to update to NAV2006. I purchased the 2006 download and installed it,but got the same stupid error message. I chatted online with a Symantec technician. He said the problem was Norton Internet Security 2004. I removed NAV, but didn't remove NIS. When I removed all the Norton programs and installed the new NAV 2006, everything worked. Hope this helps.

1. Unregiter and Re-register Navlucbk.dll (C:\Program Files\Nortan Antivirus\Navlucbk.dll)
2. Perform a disk Cleanup
3. Restart the Computer
4. Run liveupdate again
more info can be found there (took me an age to find it)

Problem LU1875 fixed.
Thanks to SLUNGE for the (May 9) instructions and
to FINK for the Unregiter and Re-register information link (May 24).
After all that I did:
Update the registry to have NAVLUCBK.DLL back to
"C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus" instead of "C:\Windows\System32"
so I can delete NAVLUCBK.DLL from "C:\Windows\System32"
Thanks again and for virtual DR
