Virus Found by AVG7 Free Edition
My son bought himself a Vaio Laptop about 3 months ago. Running XP Home.
Apparently he run AVG Test and at the end of the scan, Statistics informed him that it had found 1 virus but it gave no name or info at all.
Is this how AVG normally deal with it please?
Any info regarding how AVG virus scan works and deals with virusus would be appreciated.
Thank you.

AVG, like most a/v's will attempt to identify the virus it's found and then depending on how the options are set up either delete it, try to fix the infected file(s) if possible or ask for a user command.
Sometimes A/Vs will find a virus it can't clearly identify as it appears in this case and will just give it a generic name. There should be a log file stating what it's done with it though and it also may be in AVGs quarantine folder.
I'd do a couple of backup scans myself to double check AVGs findings.

Another option is to submit the virus file, if found, here on its own for scanning...
