Adobe Premiere Elements
a friend of mine is using the following program to edit some music together for dance. is there a simple way to convert the .prel file to an audio file? she is using xp pro if that makes a difference. thanks

The prel file is a project file, not a media file. It contains media files and all the details of the project being worked on including edits, timelines and everything that's been done.
I haven't used premiere elements but with any other editing program you'd need to open the project with the parent program and extract or export the wav file. There's no other program I'm aware of that will work with a prel file... although it's possible there may be some other high end software that can import it to work with it.

Sorry, did what you said to do. she was trying to make an audio file out of the program file withour first opening it up. once she did that she was fine.
