We still have folks who are quite happy using Windows 98SE....as Tuttle alluded to, XP will be around for quite awhile. I wouldn't sweat it.
...and as SRJ said, the only reason to really change is if the OS no longer does what you need it to do. That's why I will be making the switch to Vista as soon as I can....you need it to play Halo 2 for the PC. That's the only good reason I have. Yes....I know.....I'm pathetic. 
I'll be earning the money for it at home this summer by selling that "How To Make Money At Home" program I saw advertised in that email I got today.
