    Aurhiritative restore

i have domain named as prod.w2k.com.

i wanted to restore a user named amit s which was in mfg ou.

I made a Non autho restore and then Autho restore using ntdsutil.

    restore subtree cn=amit s,ou=mfg,dc=w2k,dc=com

i got an error as illegal syntax ,alongwith the error could not find DN=amit s

    i tried with

    restore subtree "cn=amit s,ou=mfg,dc=w2k,dc=com"

    but still the same error.

    any answ....

Not knowing that syntax yet (never needed to do a restore), shouldn't there also be a dc=prod bit?
Safe computing is a habit, not a toolkit.

I believe you're right Tuttle. It should be dc=prod then dc=w2k and finally dc=com

I had tried the domain context dc=prod ,but that also didn't work.
