    Anyone hear of these critters??

When i boot up Reg Cleaner,,it shows these two as "software", author unknown, old.
Prassi and Virtual Media..Don't know if they were left from software i uninstalled or whatever. Ad Aware doesn't detect them, Reg Cleaner doesn't say anything is in registry for them. I've done a "find files" with *. but it shows nothing.
Think they're deletable? Maybe just bein' spooky,,but knowin' good ol' Windoze,,??

If I remember correctly, Prassi had something to do with a CD label maker I had installed for awhile.

snarfll, chuckers and john are right. Why not move 'em to a different folder for a few days and see what damage strikes.....

To expand on Prassi a little. My CD-RW is Sony, it came with two pieces of software. One was CDextreme, which is the primary burning software, and Prassi. Prassi is the stuff that supports packet-writing/drag and drop functions.

Thanks for all the answers/suggestions guys. Now that i know they probably concern CD burning software, i think your clues have helped. I recently purchased the new AOpen 12x10x32 CD-RW and it came with Nero. After giving it a try, i decided to stay with ECDC. With a new feature available from Nero's site, you can run both Nero "and" ECDC if you install a program that lets you choose which one you want during boot-up.
I got tired of having to do the "choose" thing every time i booted, so uninstalled "that" feature "and" Nero. The boot thing left a lot of stuff in autoexec.bat and config.sys that i remmed out. But i digress, Think they may have been left by the burning prog. I would like to do as zipulrich suggests and move them to another folder for awhile, but as i mentioned, they only show in Reg Cleaner and a find file on them doesn't turn anything up. And Reg Cleaner only gives the option to delete. But i think they would be in the Cleaners back-up log at least until i run it again? Oh well, not a real biggy, but with my previous foul-ups just tryin' to be as safe as possible..
    Thanks all!!

    snarfll,

    Dosen't Regcleaner make you a back-up.

I don't know what version you are running, but take a look at Options > Registry Cleanup > Backups , and make sure the "Don't make any backups" is unchecked.

Seems I remember one version defaulting to that, could be wrong though.

Renovator,, yep, your right, Reg Cleaner makes one back-up by default or you can set it for more.
Deleted the two items and will keep them there 'til i'm sure nothing is harmed.

    Thanks all for your help!
    Have a; good'un
