Error Message
I have Win XP running on my laptop. I use the Antivir Personal Edition AV and IE as the browser. A lot of times when I am browsing a page and I click on something on that page I get this error message and it will not work if I click yes or no. I have to keep clicking the X to get it to close out and I cannot go to the nexy page. Can someone tell me why I get this error and how to stop it?
"Do you want to allow this page to paste information from your clipboard?"
Thanks.

Hi pennydog.
It's not an error message, it's a security setting in I.E.
See the below article to stop the message:
How to Prevent Web Sites From Obtaining Access to the Contents of Your Windows Clipboard

Thanks for the reply. If this is security - then do I need to disable it? If it is not disabled, it will not let me go any further because it does not accept yes or no.

I would disable it as described in the MS article. I'm hard pressed to think of any reason it would be useful... the only examples of it purposely ever being used that I can find are
to try to send the contents of your clipboard to the website you're visiting.. not something you'd want to do under most circumstances.
Having said that much of the time the message appears because of badly written javascript and/or false alarms.

The default setting is to have it disabled, so you probably accidentally enabled it at some time. It seems to be one of those oddball settings that doesn't really have a lot of use.
Nick.
