nslookup error

    nslookup error

    When i run nslookup in win3k server ,i get the following error.
    Can't find server name for address 192.168.0.10: Non-existent domain

    i have created a reverse zone and ptr records

    kindly help

    Is this an Active Directory domain?

    Is 192.168.0.10 the server you're running NSLookup from?

    ....and sorry, but I have to ask. Is 192.168.0.10 a valid DNS server for your domain?

    it is an ad domain,named as w3k.com.Its actually 192.168.1.46.I had by mistake eneterd the ip ,while editing .

    192.168.1.46 is the dns server .

    when i type nslookup,i get

    Default Server: UnKnown
    Address: 192.168.1.46

    Win3k is often used to refer to Windows 2003.

    w3k is a name given to identify it as a windows 2003 server ,i think nix was thinking of win 3000(??????????) ,as posted by his comment as win3k server ,which i have no where mentioned ........

    Ne way ,let me know abt the ns lookup issue

    looks like I mixed the reference to win3k in your first post and w3k.com above to come up with a site win3k.com

    Personally I would understand Win2k3 for the server OS but win3k makes no sense to me - oh well.

    Edit: seems google stats agree.

    win3k - 700 hits
    win2k3 - 405,000 hits

    The first for win3k is a VDr hit so that's good though
