    Resolved [RESOLVED] Amd Xp 2800+

    Hi, Its me again
    after solving my previous problem and after resetting my motherbord, I just need to know what should be the multiplexer factor (in the BIOS section ) so that my AMD XP 2800 processor runs as 2800+ and not as 2600+ which is the current situation now?

    Are you trying to overclock it? Just because it says 2800+ doesn't meant it runs at 2.8. According to my research the 2800 runs the same speed as the 2600 FSB333:

    2600 2083MHz (333FSB)

    2800 2083MHz

    Ahmed, there are two different models of 2800+, and they have different multiplier settings. There is a Thoroughbred version and a Barton version. If you don't know which one you have, Everest will tell you:

    Everest

    Both have a FSB of 166MHz, the Thoroughbred has a multipleir of 13.5 and the Barton has a multiplier of 12.5.

    Photolady, No I am not overclocking it and thank you for the input
    Nick, indeed it is 12.5 the repair shop set it at 12 only. I have set it back to 12.5 and now it is as it should be.
