Want to disable Norton A/V in SysWrks
Hi Guys,
I'm due for renewal again for Norton AV.
I have it in NSW 2003 Pro, but I would like to keep SW and use Avast for AV.
My thought was to disable Norton AV (in options) and remove its references in Msconfig.
I have heard of problems trying to uninstall and reinstall parts of SW.
Any thoughts or experience?
Thnx

I wouldn't try to uninstall it. Just disable it as you appear to be doing and you shouldn't have any problems.
Also have a look in services and see if any part of the a/v is loading there. stop that too.

braine ded--Fully uninstalling NAV 2003 does present problems. See, for example,
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...sch_nam&seg=hm
See the link at the very bottom. (NAV installed as part of NSW)
More detail here
http://service4.symantec.com/SUPPORT...2?OpenDocument
However, this is usually needed only if you want to install a newer version of NAV.
