laptop for college
I need a new laptop.., and well, I can't for the life of me decide on anything
I want one that has a really really long battery life and is pretty light
Need things like S-video output
screen needs to be at least 15", 17" would be cool
budget- 1500 to 2200
the processor doesn't matter much. anything in that price range will be good enough. at least 512mb of ram, 1gig would be cool but no where near required. HDD should be 80GBish, which seems to be standard. I'd like to be able to play things like morrowind, meaning a non intel graphics card but I'd sacrifice that for battery life if necessary.
any recommendations?

Battery life has several variables. Just get a second one.....

If it's for college then most of the time you use it you'll be at your desk, so a battery life of 3 hours should be fine. If you prefer working in the library then I'm sure they'll have wall sockets there to keep it topped up.

I will still have a desktop computer. probably gonna be getting a dual core athlon sometime soon.
I just need a computer to take to classes and take notes and not have to worry about battery life. As in, I am not the most responsable person, so I don't want to be screwed if forget to charge it.
EDIT- but I suppose an extra battery will take care of that...
I think I am going to wait and see how the intel core duos work out before I make any descions...
