    including system specs

Okay..like one of my school teachers said "there's no such thing as a stupid question". Well...here is mine: I want to add my system specs to the bottom of my messages but I didn't see exactly where in control panel that this was done...is it the 'edit signature' part? Here it is about 8 years that I have been gaining knowledge from this site and I am just now getting around to adding my specs to my messages...

Yep, its your signature....Edit Signature|Add all of the info and use colour and bold underline etc, and click Save.

Yes, the "edit signature" area. You can select the font, size and color using the drop-down menus at the top of the window; there is a total-character limit but unless you're writing a book you'll be OK.

If I recall, the limit is 500 characters. Which is a lot more than it sounds.

Okay...question..how do I get my name to appear above the specs area? I was, am, having trouble using the drop down menus. When I chose a color, I got an 'Explorer Use Prompt' box that I had to use...I could only use one option at a time ( either 'color', or 'size', or 'font'), and if I wanted to change the color I would have to re-type everything again in the Explorer Prompt box. I tried un-ticking the 'guided mode' button and using the 'enhanced' mode , which did away with the Explorer Prompt box, but I still had trouble getting it like I wanted. When I tried to change the color and clicked the preview pane I would get this stuff [color=blue]. Now, I obviously got it mostly figured out as you can see from the above messages but how would I go about doing something like underlining my specs without having to re-type everything? I have probably just made this way too hard....

Ill use < and > instead of [ and ] or you wont see the resultant code.Basically you combine the required code around the wording you want it to affect i.e.

Adding a link in bold, red in colour, size 1 and underlined

    <size=1><color=Red><url=http://www.thisaddresshere.com><b>Any text to appear</b></url></color></size>

The easiest way may be for you to add a link then cut the text and paste it in the bold statement box and repeat again to add the colour.Ad infinitum until you have the desired effect.

    <u><size=1><color=Red><url=http://www.thisaddresshere.com><b>Any text to appear</b></url></color></size></u>

What I did was to highlight (left-click & drag across the copy) the copy I wanted to choose color for, then choose the color--the open- and close-color code is set. Then highlight everything (including code) again, choose the font; then highlight again, choose the size if desired. Then you can underline, embolden, and italicize words/phrases individually as desired. It's quicker than it sounds. (Guided mode, not enhanced mode.)

lgbpop...ahhh yes...that sounds easier to my little pea brain !! What I couldn't understand was why I couldn't choose font, size, and color at the same time and then have it all applied together when I clicked preview. But your explanation is clear...thanks.
