    print server issues

I have a network. DHCP. attached to the router is a print server. It'll run beautifully for a while then one day it decides to just stop. so i have to mess with it and it'll run again for a while then one day again it stops printing. could it be the dynamic ip address? should i maybe have a static ip address using a print server? do routers release renew on a regular basis. it has been about two months since it did it last time. I'm really at a loss here since i don't know much about networking and this is for a business so they can't be without a printer.

Generally you should set a static IP address for anything you expect to use as a server like that.

What do you do when you "mess with it"? It could just be the power supply overheating or something like that.

I went in and did the reset thing (it's a linksys print server) with the little hole in the back to reset it to default settings. so i assume now it is running with dhcp by default.
