You either have a sound card installed in the computer OR you have an on-board sound provision. I just visited the info in the following c/p and you may or may not have done the several steps listed dealing with opening My Computer on the desktop and following the steps in this c/p:

I hope that I am not confusing the issue. Was there a driver installation disk that was a part of the computer when you bought it?
