    Trouble with Nascar4 on Win2000

I have not used this game since I upgraded to Win2K and installed it recently, along with the latest patch. It ran fine for a while but now I am having problems. Sierra does not seem to support this product any more, at least I cannot find it on their site other than the latest patch. The forums that I used to know of seem to be gone.

Can anyone point me to a support forum or support site? Or should I post the details of the problem here?

You can post your problem here. Of course, first make sure you've updated to the latest video card drivers and directx version.

System is AMD 1.2Ghz, 512Mb RAM, GeForce FX 5500 w/256Mb, Win2000 Sp4, 60Gb drive w/45Gb free. DXDIAG reports no problems, and video card is newly installed with drivers downloaded this week from Nvidia. Other games run fine, so I don't really suspect the video card, but...

The game ran fine, only thing I noticed was that the wheel was assigned to axis 12 and 13 for steering which seemed a little odd. Worked okay though.

Now when the game is started the menu screen appears briefly, about one second or so, and then the program goes to a driver/car definition screen and becomes nonresponsive. There is no "done" or "exit" button on the screen, and Task Manager reports that the program is running but not responding.

I've thought about uninstalling and reinstalling, but thought I'd first get some input from people who might know about possible "issues" that reinstalling would just encounter all over again.

I didn't realize I had NASCAR 2002. Uninstalled #4 and installed that one and it seems to be running fine.
