Pinpointed Video lag, just cant get rid of it please help!!
well ihave pinpointed the constant steady video lag that i have been experiencing. I went through ms config and found the program tile. its "nvpcl.dll,Nvstarup" when i actually went in and deleted these and rebooted and everything it just recreated itself and made the same file, so i need to know how to permanently remove this file. Can someone please help me??

http://www.liutilities.com/products/...ary/nvstartup/
nvstartup is a process which belongs to Nvidia based graphics cards and adds additional functionality for this range of graphics products. This program is non-essential process to the running of the system, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.

Don't try deleting any files, just uncheck the entry for it in the Msconfig>Startup tab.

And while you are in msconfig/ startup see what else you can disable.

Has a listing of what those criptic words in there mean.

Maybe rename the "nvpcl.dll" file to "nvpcl.dll.renamed", and reboot?

Right-click Start, select Open and check your Startup Files. If the program's in there, delete the shortcut.

This file is not that evil, really, I swear. I hate needless threads as much as the next guy, but this one is the control panel extention (it's the extra tab in the display properties window). Multi mon support, color adjustments, display timing adjustments, overclocking, fast desktop switching, rotation, all the cool stuff and much better than the freeware apps that try to do the same thing.
I think you might be able to disable its autolaunch by choosing a setting within that little nVidia icon in your system tray. If not, you'd probably have to use default VGA controller drivers.

I'm a bit mystified, frankly, I unchecked that in my Msconfig quite some time ago and it's stayed unchecked ever since. I can't think what could be resetting it. In case you haven't already done so, uncheck "NvMcTray" as well.
Nick.
