For what it's worth, I have a 3500c and it does just fine.
Still, sometimes I wonder how computers work at all. I bet you could give a thousand people the exact same build of a machine and an identical scanner or burner or printer, etc, and there'd be problems for some.

I was working at Wal Mart when I bought the 3500c and I got such a deal on the price I could not pass it buy. It was like half price and I thought HP might have gotten better since I had bought the 4200c. (but I was wrong)

I've never had problems with an HP scanner - and I've had four of various types. I found the Paperport software was buggy though.
