Pandora.com - unbelievable music site
This site is for music lovers. I came across it today, and I think its amazing. You will too.
The site works in an amazing way. What you do is pick an artist or song you particularly like, and the site will find similar type of music. The site will then make you a playlist of this type of music and play the songs, one by one! The whole song! Not snippets or 10 second promos. The whole damn thing! Best of all, its absolutely free and 100% legal! Its basically internet radio, with customizable playlists.

What setting do I need to adjust to get the site. All I get is white space where the player should be not much else. I renamed hosts to hosts.abc to see it that was it and that didn't work. It doesn't have restricted site on the bottom of my explorer, just says unknown zone (mixed).

Haven't been there yet but I'd be interested to see what compares to U2, not much in my opinion although people have suggested, REM and Coldplay.
I'd agree with some Coldplay but REM ?????????
My wife actually said the latest INXS single sounds like U2 ?
P.S. Got my tickets to the Sydney concert on April 1, queued for 10 1/2 hours overnight, but it was worth it.

It is a good site to play with for the time being. I don't know about some of these artist you pick and they try to match rhythm, sound, and vocal. Some are off the chart in difference. Still fun though.
Thanks.

I'm home from work and checked the version of flash I have is 8. Just to make sure I went to macromedia and they said version 8.0.22.0. Still only get the white box. While at it checked shockwave also and is version 10. Am unsure what else to check. Any other suggestions?

Check pop-up blocker, firewall and spyware program settings; make it a trusted site if necessary.

I don't have a pop-up blocker, other than the one on google toolbar, but disableing it to allow pup ups doesn't bring it up. I can't see it being blocked in sygate firewall, it says pandora is allowed. Unless it's spyware guard blocking it. I also made it a trusted site and even said allow the cookie that it keeps blocking. Went into internet options, security, custom to make sure active x wasn't being disabled on trusted sites. Spyware blaster doesn't show it listed in restricted any more than my restricted in ie does. What would it be called other than pandora in spyware blaster? It can't be listed in restricted zone anyway or it would not have let me enter it in trusted. I'm at a real loss as to what else to check. I almost forgot, it doesn't appear to be listed in spybot either. I get everything on the page and any of the links I click on the bottom of the page but not player showing on pandora.com.

I see in your sig you're using Win98.
Take a look at the system requirements.

I'm using W98 SE, IE6, 256MB mem, AMD proc, running Agnitum Outpost firewall, Popup killer and tracks eraser, BHODemon, AVG PE, and spywareblaster. I did nothing to tweak for showing this pandora site.
Still works fine for me.
I hope you find your reason quickly. Has to be a setting missed somewhere.

I tested Pandora on 98SE, my new ME install, Ubuntu and XP Home--works well on all of them. May have more to do with your hardware than your OS.
