Error message
OS Windows XP Pro with SP2 Motherboard ASRock K7S41GX. I am trying to install Windows XP Pro however at one stage im receiving error message:
STOP: 0x000000E3
Over the internet i have been searching what might have caused this error and the results that came up all point at Win 2000 saying i need to have SP1.
Not knowing what hardwear is causing the problem if anyone might know anything more please reply. I suspect its the mother board.

What is the rest of the message? There should be more than just STOP: 0x00000E3.

Is this a fresh install? If so, what does Win2K SP1 have to do with it?

That particular Stop error is often associated with the NTFS filesystem. I would advise letting WinXP Setup format the drive during the installation. If you had been doing that, run the hard drive makers' diagnostic utility and see if that reports anything.
