    See anything odd here?

ecross has been trying to assist me with hooking up a wireless router. Hit some really weird behavior and bad luck with router. Told Eric I wanted to get notebook cleaned up before we go further with networking. (he's as frustrated as I am). I have trouble connecting laptop to web with wireless. Shows connection active, but can't access web pages. Eric helped me get ZA tweaked a bit, and that helped keep me connected yesterday afternoon. This morning, problems again. I wanted to make sure my notebook was clean before I accuse the router of being faulty, so I started scanning, because I was getting all kinds of oddball behavior. Home page kept reverting to prior page from months ago. IE hangs. Pages slow to load. PC hangs when attempting to use most commands (Add/Remove, Explore, Browse.) Know this all sounds vague, just the kind of behavior from a bad entity. I have scanned with every tool I can get my hands on. Any thoughts on hijack this are appreciated. I listed results of all other scans I've done as well. TIA ~Kat

--Found Viewpoint Mediaplayer (which I did not install) and uninstalled it.
--AVG and free ZA show nothing.
--Ewido detected Smitfraud in a two files, which I let Ewido quarantine and remove.
    --Ad-Aware and Spybot detected nothing.
    --Trend Micro online - nothing.

--Panda online - detected this as possible infection:

    Incident: possible virus
    Status: Not disinfected
Location: ([email protected])\Inbox\Online Order Confirmation SecurityUpdate_v.3.1.1.exe]
EDIT Don't know what prompted me to look closer into AVG virus vault. I was not alerted to anything today by AVG. However, vault shows the following:
    11/30/05 9:23 a.m. (two hours ago)
    Trojan Horse Dropper.Mosimp.b
    Location: C:\\WINNT\temp\ASHeuristic\SecurityUpdate_v.3.1.1.exe

Working on getting rid of that now!

Log looks clean to me . If you wish, you can run silent runners to see if there is anything that HJT missed?

Go here and download then run Silent Runners.vbs. It generates a log. Please post the information back in this thread.
If you have a script blocking program, please allow the file to run. It is not malicious.

Thank you so much crunchie, for recommendation for Silent Runners and taking the time to view these logs, I really appreciate it! (And am so impressed with those who have the ability to decipher these logs!)

Here are results of Silent Runners full scan (with Supplementary Search)

Thank you crunchie! Yes, I did manage to get everything cleaned up, machine is running much better, all that "disruptive" behavior is gone. Crazy thing is with all the armor I use, it took outside/online sources to pick up the two Trojans I found and some additional spyware. Best to make online scans part of security routine as well, even when things seem to be going smoothly.

Thanks again for your time, appreciate it!
