In Firefox click Tools > Options > Web Features > Enable Javascript Advanced. If there is a check mark in Change Status Bar Text, remove it and OK your way out.

I don't have Mozilla but I believe the procedure is similar if not identical.

This prevents malicious web sites from modifying the Status Bar display to mislead you.
