Irfanview batch conversion problem.
This is another of those "oddball" things that happens.
I have a lot of guitar pics on my computer. A lot of these came from Fenders website. (Here's an example.)
Most of these are around 400-500 pixels wide, and they all are 1250 pixels tall. So, there are two functions I always like to perform, to make it easier to view them on my computer:
1. I simply rotate them right. (Clockwise 90 degree's.) This makes their aspect ratio match the monitor screen better.
2. Resize the width, (which is now 1250), down to 1000. (My monitor is set for 1024 x 768 resolution.)
Since I have so many of these, (virtually all of them from the website), I thought I'd give the batch conversion a try. It seemed pretty simple. I selected "batch conversion" from the File menu. I selected to use the same folder, delete the originals, rotate all to the right, and resize to 1000 pixels wide. I selected all the files in the folder, and hit "Start".
The batch-conversion window, seemed to indicate that it proccessed all files successfully. But here's the weird quirk.
Those particular files no longer show up in Irfanview. If I select that directory, it appears empty. (Only using Irfanview.) They show up fine in Windows Explorer, and in any other graphics program I use, ACDSee, NeoPaint, etc. And, they weren't processed at all. They are still vertically orientated and 1250 pixels tall.
I've shutdown, and restarted Irfanview, to no avail. This just doesn't make any sense. Anyone have any ideas about what might be happening here?
Thanks; Dex
