Microsoft PWS
Thinking about trying Microsoft's Personal Web Server for Windows 95.
My understanding is that the PWS and the browser can run on the same computer.
Do I need a network card installed?
I don't have it installed right now.
Also having trouble with the PWS installation files.
My troubles with install.exe follow:
"Error Starting Program
A required .DLL file, OCMANAGE.DLL, was not found."
Then I get the message above repeated in a different window.
After I click OK, there is another message:
"Setup
Unable to run c:\bobs\downldir\sysocmgr.exe"
What CAB file can I extract the OCMANAGE.DLL file from?
The ie40cif.cab file seems to contain it.
I get to the dir where the file needs to go and used extract. c:\win95c\ie40cif.cab filename
Trying to run the install.exe program after doing this, I get the following
"The C:\JUNK\ROBERTS\OCMANAGE.DLL file appears to be corrupt.
Reinstall the file and try again."
What causes this? DLL is not registered? Don't know...
