I have not done this but it was interesting reading and would definately save you a lot of money over buying a Fire GL card. Some people actually have cards that didn't work out as great gamer type cards (IE they are not the latest and greatest anymore), but might know a person who could use a Fire GL card??? Although you would most likely lose dual DVI output as the Radeon cards only have one DVI out port by design... You would still have a great workstation card at a greatly reduced price.
