Tuttle: Yes, you have it right. I guess I was just a bit lazy and tried to summarize the issue as simple as I could come up with at the time. 
It is something Sygate should fix. If they had this issue fixed, I would be hard pressed to find much else wrong with the product...IMO.
The Sygate thread I noted above goes into the problem pretty well...
