Long distance networking
Hi all.
Just a question regarding the length of cable one can run in a Lan home situation. At present have LAN setup and running with Linksys router, ADSL modem, puter#1 p4-1.8 XPPro, puter#2 p4-2.4 W2kPro. I also have at any time, other puters hooked up for repair etc., to the Lan for internet scans etc. I want to move my "office" p4-24 and router etc., approx 75'- away from other puter. I have a single 100' cable I can use to connect to the router. This would run cable form downstars to 3rd level of house. Should I anticipate any problems with loss of speed etc., with this type of setup? I do not wish to go wireless - just need some feedback on this setup.
Thanks in advance,
frums
