Mini DV cassette to DVD
Camera: Canon ZR70MC Digital Video Camcorder using Mini DV cassettes 1 hour recording time.
Computer: 1.5 Athlon Win 98se firewire installed.
I would like some guidance in the proper format for converting the 1 hour video tapes from this camcorder to DVD. I have a Ulead program that came with the camcorder that I can copy the film to the computer, edit, and save. I did a 13.5 minute portion of one tape in mpeg1 format and it results in a 1.08 gig file. Would a DVD hold the full one hour video in this format if burned to a DVD and would it be be playable on my standalone DVD? Is this in fact the proper format to use? Since I am not that sure about burning DVDs in this manner, I would appreciate any help you could afford and any changes in my method you may have to offer. Thanks.
