vmm.vxd issues
Hi
I just installed Win 98 onto an older Hp Pavilion (Pentium) When it boots, I get the error message
"Windows protection error You need to restart your computer
c:\windows\system\vmm32.vxd: missing/unable to load.
Now I have tried using both a Win98 and a Win98se disk, to no avail (they are original copies). I went to this page
http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;q194679
and followed their advice, again to no avail. I can boot into safe mode, and I see the vmm folder in the system file. I also checked the autoexec.bat to make sure the proper path is in there (it is) . Iv'e tried loading Win98 onto this machine 3 times, and it ahs yet to boot up normally.
Any help would be appreciated.
