backup to network CD-RW drive?
Greetings!
I would like to do a full backup of my daughter's old Acer (Win 95) machine. The Acer does not have a burner. I have it connected to my network and would like to back it up to the CD-RW drive on my Dell machine (Win 98SE). Any idea how this can be done?
I use Power Quest (Symantec?) Drive Image and it does not "see" network drives as far as I know. I thought about just creating a partition on the Acer ( imaging to the new partition using Drive Image, then copying the image file over to the Dell, and then creating CDs). Unfortunately there is very little room (< 800KB) on the Acer hard drive to do that.
I also thought about maping the CD-RW drive on the Dell to the Acer but that requires Windows and that's lost when Drive Image reboots to do its thing.
Do you know of a technique to do this? Other backup software that can backup to network drives?
Thanks,
Janusz
