I found a website that had the init string for my USR modem. I put it in the appropriate place, the Advanced area of the connection tab on modem properties. However, when I downloaded TweakDUN at 1.55 mb near the end of the download it had dropped down to only 4.55kb per sec. Its lightning fast for the first few seconds, but then it just drops down to almost the same speed as a 14.4. If this is 56k, 28.8 must of been only a couple tenths of a kb faster than 14.4.

Another thing is when I go look at the advanced tab later the modem init string is no longer there. Is it suppose to remain visible forever? Or does it get tucked away by the modem somewhere?
